Sea Eagle 385fta FastTrack Angler Rating
Sea Eagle 385fta Review: Kayak Overview
Sea Eagle may have just taken the top honors for best fishing kayak with the 385fta FastTrack Angler. There is a lot to like about this new model, and we’re going to go over some of the things that we like most about it.
First of all, like all Sea Eagle inflatables, the 385fta is built like a tank. Made from military-grade drop stitch construction with an outer PVC skin that is practically indestructible, the 385fta is built to last.
The hunter green aesthetics give this kayak a definite outdoors vibe and it blends in nicely with the surroundings while out on the water.
The 385fta is NMMA certified and rated for up to class II rapids. If you’re looking for a model that excels in serious whitewater conditions, this isn’t it. There are definitely other Sea Eagle models that are better suited for whitewater paddling.
The floor and pontoons of the 385fta is covered with a super tough crocodile hide EVA foam padding which protects the kayak from fishing hook punctures and provides additional traction when standing. Sea Eagle has also incorporated a convenient fish measuring ruler on the starboard pontoon which is a nice touch.
The front and rear of the 385fta have spray skirts with built-in fishing rod holders and bungee cord storage areas. The spray skirts also have additional storage underneath as well as holders for fishing lures, hooks, and other accessories.
The inside of the pontoons feature two carrying handles which make it easy to carry the 385fta when it’s fully inflated. There are also grab handles at the bow and stern of the kayak for pulling the kayak in and out of the water.
There is a separate inner drop stitch floor which increases the kayaks rigidity, and the kayak has a total of 18 stainless steel D-rings for attaching seats and tying down additional gear.
The Sea Eagle 385fta tracks well thanks to the specially-designed NeedleKnife drop stitch keel located at the bow.
What Comes With It
Sea Eagle currently offers four different 385fta configurations which allows you to customize the kayak based on your personal needs. The basic setup is the Sea Eagle 385fta Deluxe Solo Angler package which comes with an inflatable DKS seat, dual-action pump, A41 foot pump, 7’10” AB30 paddle, carrying bag, and inflatable kayak repair kit.
All configurations of the 385fta are backed by the company’s impressive 3-year warranty which covers all manufacturer defects. They also include a full 180-day money back guarantee which allows you to return the kayak if it doesn’t meet your expectations.

The Sea Eagle 385fta is not the best all-around inflatable kayak, but that’s not what it was designed for. This kayak is a specialty model that was designed with fishing in mind. If that’s what you’re looking for, then this kayak is a fantastic choice.
We’re extremely impressed with Sea Eagle’s attention to detail, and the 385fta comes with a lot of really neat features which make this a great choice as far as fishing kayaks go. The EVA foam padding adds additional durability and protection against damage caused by fish hooks and other sharp tools, and the durable floor design gives the 385fta tremendous rigidity.
There are plenty of rod holders and storage options on the 385fta, and this is definitely a kayak that you can comfortably spend the day fishing on.
If what you’re searching for is an extremely well-built inflatable fishing kayak in this price range, the Sea Eagle 385fta FastTrack Angler is pretty tough to beat. It excels at what it’s designed to do, and knowing that you’re covered for a full three years by Sea Eagle’s generous warranty is a nice added bonus.
