The popular THURSO SURF Waterwalker 10’6″ is a great choice for novice, intermediate, and advanced paddlers who need a durable, versatile board that performs well in a variety of paddling conditions.
THURSO’s popular Waterwalker inflatable SUP comes in two sizes, 10’6″, and the larger 11′ version. In this review, we’ll go over the smaller 10’6″ model’s features, specs, construction, included accessories, THURSO’s warranty, and where to buy the board.
THURSO SURF Waterwalker 10’6″: Board Overview
Measuring 10’6″ x 31″ x 6″ and weighing 24 pounds, the Waterwalker 10’6″ has a maximum capacity of 380 pounds. This board offers good stability which is great for beginners, and it’s a bit easier to maneuver than the longer THURSO SURF Waterwalker 11′. Unlike most other all-around boards on the market, THURSO’s Waterwalker SUPs feature a touring shape which allows them to perform a bit better when it comes to speed and overall paddling performance. If you’re looking for even better performance, we recommend checking out the THURSO Expedition.
As you see on all THURSO SUP boards, the Waterwalker 10’6″ gives off a classic, old-school vibe thanks to the model’s woodgrain graphics and sleek lines. On the water, this board looks like a rigid board and really stands out from the boring inflatables currently flooding the market.
Construction
The THURSO Waterwalker 10’6” not only looks like a hard board — it also feels quite similar thanks to the durable drop-stitch construction. When fully inflated to 15 psi, this board is extremely stiff and is able to handle a significant amount of abuse. Featuring a double layer of durable military-grade PVC material, the Waterwalker 10’6″ can handle bumps and hard knocks better than most boards and you’ll never have to worry about dings.
Features
The top deck of the Waterwalker 10’6″ has a comfortable grip pad which provides good traction but is easy on the feet. There’s also a comfortable center velcro carry handle that opens up and can be used to secure your paddle when you’re on the water.
The nose of the Waterwalker 10’6″ features a standard 4-point elastic bungee storage area which you can use to keep your gear secure on the water. There’s also a nylon webbed grab handle which is helpful when pulling the board in and out of the water.
At the tail of this SUP is a Halkey Roberts inflation valve and a D-ring for attaching the included SUP leash. In addition to inflating the board with the included dual-action pump, you can also use any of the compatible electric paddle board pumps being sold today.
The bottom of the board features a really convenient tri-fin setup with three removable fins. The fact that you can remove all three fins makes it really easy
